What to wear when going out? PT. 1
You're about to leave the house, you open the wardrobe, you keep staring at it but you can't find anything suitable!
With your head overloaded with thoughts, you don't feel like searching and researching what to choose between functional and beautiful.
Whether you want to take a ride on your motorbike or walk downtown, we're still talking about the road, right?
So why sacrifice beauty for functionality, or vice versa?
You probably don't have the usual paranoia (like 99.9% of the planet) of choosing something that can't be adequate for two apparently so different worlds.
For now there aren't many solutions, but don't despair, this sector is never still and we at Hidden Garage are working on it, day by day, collaboration after collaboration, to bring rather utopian innovations for our brand and for many trends, which over the years have fossilized into ideals that have become dusty.
In recent months, major brands and personalities have introduced the protective world of motorcycles also for their fashion shows, but not only; Kanye West wears motorcycle-derived garments in his most recent concerts but also in his street appearances: almost to give these garments a “casual” touch. He who has made streetwear a mantra, even flaunting the creation of trends that have aggressively influenced the market.
The startup that is carrying forward the evolution of the DAirLab® airbag, owned by the well-known entrepreneur Lino Dainese, celebrated with Dior® in the latest AW 22/23 fashion show, the union of protective and functional technology with comfort, continuously feeding our eyes.
What does this tell you?
These solutions will be more and more present among us and we don't even believe in such a distant future!
Now, however, keeping our feet on the ground, it is necessary to respect grandma's old advice and dress in layers, improvising clothing suitable for both roads; those where safety is necessary such as motorcycles or in the quieter and apparently danger-free streets, such as those in the center!
< Yes ok but how do we organize the “onion” this time?
We don't even know what we want to do today and I doubt that the outfit of the day can find the right compromise for two contexts so different from each other. >
True, but there is always a solution!
Let's start by defining the ideal combination!
Let's start from the top:
- Belstaff , a brand that became famous for its English-style jackets , has a special section for these dedicated to motorcycling, inherited from the history of the island, the mother of café-racers;
- Brands like Dainese and Alpinestars have a section with urban jackets (and certainly with an eye on safety since they know something about traveling by motorbike. In the end it's just their core business).
- Underneath, you can easily wear sweatshirts or t-shirts like those from Hidden Garage ( see here ), giving a bit of character when you take off the outer layer.
Let's move on to the lower part:
- Pants , well I would recommend jeans with a heavy denim that should not be less than 12 ounces. Below this weight, we do not recommend purchasing them as they are too light and poorly used (the weight of 9-10 ounces is more used for shirts or accessories);
- Before putting an insole under your feet, you need to protect your foot from any sweating and so, we at Hidden Garage intervene, recommending our socks ( see here ) made with a mix of cotton and bamboo fibre, which retain any liquids, keeping the foot odourless and obviously dry;
- Shoes , I would recommend Red Wing (a classic that never gets old, well made and almost immortal) or even a well-known Italian brand such as Falco Boots which offers various types of items, from the most technical to the urban-ride ones, useful if you are planning a tourist trip, where you will certainly likely be taking a walk.
Last but not least, having a hat on you at all times. Whether it’s summer or winter, Hidden Garage® steps in with a vengeance against the competition; giving you great alternatives accompanied by different designs ( see here ).
